I found this Youtube video about Charles Littleleaf thenative american flute player. He talks about his struggle with addiction. What is very ineteresting is that he talks about his rise and fall, and how native maerican music played a role in his come back:

Thanks for the Charles Littleleaf video. It is really interesting how music can touch people. I think it is amazing how Carlos Nakai has made Native American flute music a little more accessible to those trained in Western Art Music by notating it.

I love the Charles Littleleaf one! Music is medicine! What a testament to music therapy. It is amazing how people can turn around once they find that way of expression. For him it was this flute. WAY COOL!
ReplyDeleteSome good stuff, Nawar. Wikipedia is good for this sort of thing. Do watch it if you use it in researching a paper, though--you'll need to check out other sources in that case.
ReplyDeleteAnd the two videos are great. The Nakai one is interesting, too, because the text is translated into five different languages on the bottom and a few on the side, as well.
